Our newcomer mentorship program offers a unique opportunity for individuals conversational in English and another language to learn to design and deliver a local nature walk.Program Highlights:Skill Development: Gain valuable skills and knowledge through mentorship with experienced nature interpreters.Language & Culture: Lead a nature walk in your first language or English, connecting your cultural heritage with Saskatchewan's natural beauty.Ecological Education: Learn about the local ecology, including botany, birds, and ecosystems like prairies and wetlands.Community Building: Build connections within the community by sharing your experiences and knowledge with the public.Program Details:Duration: Seven sessions in May and June 2024, each lasting approximately two hours.Activities: Nature interpretation, discussions on best practices, and hands-on experience leading short nature hikes.Location: East-central Saskatchewan, Wynyard areaAccessibility: We strive to address any accessibility issues and offer the program at no cost to reduce barriers to participation.How to Register: Individuals or pairs can apply, and no prior experience is necessary—just a passion for nature and a willingness to learn.
